Job summary

Fish & Richardson P.C. seeks a Patent Paralegal (IDS/Formalities) to support information disclosure statements, Office actions, and related filings in our Chicago office.

You will manage a prosecution docket, meet deadlines, and track hours for billing. A paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree and at least 6 months' patent paralegal experience are required, with collaborative, detail-oriented work style. On-site presence required at least 3 days per month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-recognized program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 months experience as a Patent Paralegal or equivalent legal support experience.
• Experience with preparing and filing information disclosure statements and formal documents (assignments, declarations, office action shells, etc.).
• Ability to meet the firm's billing requirement of 1300 hours per year.
• Willingness to assist other team members and work well in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in the office at least 3 days per month.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, obtain, and file documents related to information disclosure statements, formalities, and responses to office actions.
• Maintain and manage a prosecution docket and follow up to ensure due dates and deadlines are met.
• Account for all hours worked by entering time into the firm's timekeeping system to reach the billable goal of 1300 hours per year.
