Fish & Richardson, the premier global intellectual property law firm, seeks a Patent Paralegal in Chicago to support patent prosecution, prepare and file documents, and maintain a prosecution docket.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or ABA-recognized paralegal certificate and 5+ years of U.S. patent prosecution experience. You must meet a 1300-hour annual billing target and be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per month; we offer hybrid schedules and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or ABA-recognized paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of patent paralegal experience with U.S. prosecution knowledge.
• Must meet the firm’s 1300 hours per year billing target.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, obtain, and file patent prosecution documents (e.g., office actions, assignments, IDS).
• Maintain and manage a prosecution docket and ensure deadlines are met.
• Enter time into the firm’s timekeeping system to meet billable goals.
