Job summary

Fish & Richardson, a premier global intellectual property law firm, is seeking a Patent Paralegal (IDS/Formalities) to join the Practice Systems Department. The role involves preparing, filing, and managing information disclosure statements and formal documents, with a focus on meeting deadlines and billable-hour targets.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree or ABA-paralegal certificate and has at least 6 months of patent prosecution experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA recognized program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 months experience as a Patent Paralegal with U.S. and/or foreign prosecution knowledge, or equivalent legal support experience.
• Preparation and filing of information disclosure statements and formal documents experience.
• Ability to meet the firm’s billing requirement of 1300 hours per year.
• Willingness to assist team members and work in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in the office for training and collaboration, minimum 3 days per month.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, obtain, and file documents related to information disclosure statements, formalities, and responses to office actions.
• Maintain and manage a prosecution docket and follow up on items to ensure due dates and deadlines are met.
• Account for all hours worked on a daily basis by entering time into the firm’s timekeeping system to meet billable goals.
