Job summary

Finnegan is seeking a Patent Paralegal II to assist the IP Operations team with patent filing support, deadlines, and related correspondence. Two shift options are available: 9:00–17:30 or 11:00–19:30, with potential flexibility for the later shift based on business needs and manager approval.

The role involves preparing responses to USPTO notices, drafting Information Disclosure Statements, and handling filings for US and international patent applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; or 5+ years patent prosecution experience in a law firm if no degree.
• Experience with USPTO rules, procedures, and requirements.
• Ability to navigate USPTO website and search tools for patent information.
• Experience with Electronic Filing USPTO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare responses to USPTO notices and office actions; manage fees.
• Review files and prepare Information Disclosure Statements for US/intl applications.
• Prepare shell amendments for attorney use; assist in responses to office actions.
• Enter data in databases and maintain records; reconcile invoices.
