Job summary

Finnegan is seeking a Patent Paralegal III with extensive patent prosecution experience to manage US and international filings, deadlines, and related correspondence. The role includes time entry, invoice processing, and maintaining client standards and firm procedures.

Two shifts are offered: 9:00–5:30 or 11:00–7:30, with possible flexibility on the later shift. Candidates should bring deep USPTO/foreign office knowledge, strong drafting skills, and the ability to work under pressure while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of patent prosecution experience.
• Knowledge of international patent law, USPTO rules, and procedures.
• Experience with electronic filing and office actions.
• Ability to draft and file US and international prosecutions.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate US and international patent filings with client teams.
• Review docket to meet deadlines and obtain client instructions.
• Provide attorneys with information and materials for responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with client procedures and time entries.
• Review USPTO/foreign office papers for accuracy and responses.
• Prepare papers for USPTO and national/PCT filings and continuations.
• Draft client and foreign counsel correspondence.
• Respond to client and attorney inquiries promptly.
• Assist in transferring cases into firm systems and communicate with departments.
• Maintain files, stay current on USPTO rules, and open new matters.
• Process invoices and prepare monthly client reports.
• Generate reports from databases and monitor time entries.
• Attend patent prosecution and related trainings as assigned.
• Mentor junior staff as needed and adapt to evolving processes.
