Job summary

Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP is seeking a Patent Paralegal II to support the IP Operations team. Responsibilities include preparing filings, managing deadlines, and drafting correspondence for patent applications.

Two shift options exist: 9:00–5:30 or 11:00–7:30, with possible scheduling flexibility on the later shift. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent patent prosecution experience, strong USPTO knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or five years patent prosecution experience if no degree.
• Knowledge of USPTO rules, procedures and international patent practice.
• Experience with Electronic Filing USPTO procedures.
• Strong command of MS Office and collaboration tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare responses to USPTO notices and office actions.
• Review files and prepare Information Disclosure Statements for US/international patents.
• Prepare shell amendments for attorney use in responses to office actions.
• Handle database input and maintenance; reconcile invoices and financial documents.
