TechStream, LLC, a firm specializing in IP licensing and technology commercialization, seeks an experienced Patent Attorney to join our team in Dallas. The role focuses on commercial strategy, licensing and monetization of patents, and working with cross-functional teams to evaluate technologies and portfolios.
The ideal candidate has a JD, admission to at least one US state bar, USPTO registration, and 4+ years of patent prosecution experience, with strong technical background and commercial
TechStream is an intellectual property licensing and technology commercialization company focused on building, managing, and monetizing high-quality patent portfolios and licensing programs.
We work at the intersection of technology, intellectual property, licensing, and business strategy. Our team evaluates complex technologies and patent portfolios, develops and supports global licensing programs, acquires intellectual property assets, and works with leading technology companies around the world.
We are seeking an experienced Patent Attorney who combines strong patent-law expertise with technical aptitude, commercial judgment, and an interest in patent licensing and monetization.
This is not a traditional patent prosecution position. The successful candidate will work closely with TechStream's licensing, legal, technical, and business teams to evaluate patents and technologies, develop licensing positions, support negotiations and enforcement activities, and identify opportunities to strengthen and expand TechStream's patent portfolios.
The successful candidate will be intellectually curious, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where patent law, technology, litigation, and business strategy intersect.
The candidate should be capable of independently analyzing complex patents and technologies while also communicating conclusions clearly to executives, licensing professionals, engineers, outside counsel, and counterparties.
This role provides an opportunity to practice patent law from a distinctly commercial perspective.
Rather than focusing primarily on generating and prosecuting patents, the Patent Attorney will participate throughout the lifecycle of intellectual property - from identifying and acquiring valuable patent assets, to developing portfolios, analyzing technologies and products, supporting licensing negotiations, and helping enforce patent rights globally.
For an attorney interested in understanding how high-quality intellectual property becomes a valuable business asset, TechStream offers an opportunity to work directly at the intersection of patents, technology, licensing, litigation, and investment.
