Job summary

Fredrikson & Byron seeks a patent attorney to join its Intellectual Property Group in a hybrid role, based in Des Moines or Minneapolis. You will handle patent prosecutions, counsel clients on IP strategy, and support due diligence in a collaborative Midwest firm.

Ideal candidates have 2–6 years of patent prosecution experience, an engineering background in electrical or mechanical fields, and an active US license with USPTO registration.

We are seeking a patent attorney to join our Intellectual Property Group of over 40 professionals, to be based in our Minneapolis or Des Moines offices, with the opportunity to work remotely in a hybrid environment. Our Ideal Candidates Will Have

• 2-6 years of patent prosecution experience
• A strong technical background and education in electrical or mechanical engineering or related fields

• Registration to practice with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office
• J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School
• Active attorney license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and ability to promptly become licensed in Minnesota or Iowa
