Job summary

HG Law LLP in New York City seeks an experienced Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with a strong electrical engineering background to join our team.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience, particularly in semiconductor technologies, and is registered to practice before the USPTO.

Applicants should be able to commute to the NY office regularly and will draft and prosecute patent applications, coordinate portfolios, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
• Must be registered patent agent before the USPTO.
• Patent Attorney candidates must be admitted to the NY state bar.
• Strong writing, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute patent applications in electrical engineering, semiconductors and AI.
• Coordinate large and complex patent portfolios in the U.S. and globally.
• Perform third party rights analyses.
• Mentor and support the professional development of junior staff.
