Job summary

HG Law LLP, an IP law firm with offices in New York City, seeks an experienced Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with a strong electrical engineering background. The role requires at least 3 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience, especially in semiconductor technologies.

Applicants should be able to commute regularly to the NY office. Responsibilities include drafting and prosecuting patent applications in electrical engineering, managing large portfolios in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• Registered patent agent before the USPTO; NY state bar for attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute patent applications in electrical engineering fields, including semiconductors and AI.
• Coordinate large and complex patent portfolios in the U.S. and globally.
• Perform third party rights analyses.
• Mentor and support the professional development of junior staff.
