Job summary

HG Law LLP in New York City is seeking an experienced Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with a strong electrical engineering background to join our growing IP practice. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience, with emphasis on semiconductor technologies, and the ability to manage large, global portfolios while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Experience in semiconductor technologies is required.
• Must be a registered USPTO patent agent.
• NY state bar admission for patent attorneys.
• Strong academic credentials and technical writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute patent applications with emphasis on electrical engineering, semiconductors, and AI.
• Coordinate large and complex patent portfolios in the US and globally.
• Perform third party rights analyses.
• Mentor and support the professional development of junior staff.
