Job summary

Wolf Greenfield is seeking an experienced Patent Agent fluent in English and Korean to join our Prosecution & Counseling team. This role focuses on applying expertise to intellectual property strategy, patent preparation, and prosecution for clients ranging from major consumer products companies to startups.

The position can be based in Boston, New York, or Washington, DC, or fully remote. Candidates should have at least two years of law firm patent experience and a strong technical background.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics.
  • Fluency in English and Korean (written and spoken).
  • Admission to the USPTO is required.
  • Minimum of two years of law firm patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Strong work ethic, maturity and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with leaders, attorneys, scientists and examiners.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Patent Agent who is fluent in both English and Korean (written and spoken) to join our Prosecution & Counseling department. This role is ideal for a current Patent Agent with a strong technical background who is interested in applying their expertise to intellectual property strategy, patent preparation, and prosecution for clients that span from major consumer products companies and academic institutions to start-up companies. This position can be based in our Boston, New York, or Washington, DC office, or fully remote.

Patent agents with at least two (2+) years of current law firm experience will be considered.

Responsibilities include:

  • Draft, file, and prosecute high-quality patent applications
  • Prepare responses to U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) office actions
  • Conduct examiner interviews and perform freedom to operate analyses
  • Conduct scientific, technical and legal research to support prosecution and portfolio strategy

The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
