Shriners Children's Ohio is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for our Inpatient Unit. This part-time, evening shift position offers 32 hours per week and focuses on compassionate, family-centered pediatric care under RN supervision.

Compensation is based on experience and departmental equity; benefits include medical, dental, vision, tuition assistance, and retirement matching.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA or STNA license required (Ohio).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• Assists in delivering patient care under RN supervision.
• Provides direct patient care and routine tasks as assigned.
• Demonstrates care and appropriate behavior toward patients and families.
• Assists with wound and skin care, maintains unit stocks, and supports delegated nursing activities.

Job Description

Shriners Children's Ohio has an opportunity for a Patient Care Assistant in our Inpatient Unit. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Our top healthcare professionals excel in their practices and provide compassionate, family-centered care to children who need it most. Hours: The part-time, evening shift position is 32 hours/week.

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.

Key Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• The PCA provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned.
• Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.
• Assists with wound and skin care, keeps unit and work areas stocked, and provides delegated nursing care activities as appropriate.
• Assists with the planning and provision of structured, age appropriate activities for patients under the guidance or direction of a Child Life Therapist.
• Monitors children’s activities and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment for children.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) - Ohio STNA license
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of pediatric experience
