Job summary

Shriners Children's Ohio is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Inpatient Unit on a part-time, evening schedule. You will support registered nurses by delivering direct patient care and assisting with routine tasks in a pediatric setting.

You will help with wound care, maintain a safe, family-centered environment, and coordinate with Child Life staff to provide age-appropriate activities while ensuring compassionate care for children and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CNA - Ohio STNA license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• One year of pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned.
• Demonstrates caring and appropriate behavior with patients and families.
• Assists with wound and skin care, keeps unit stocked, and provides delegated nursing care activities as appropriate.
• Assists with planning and provision of structured, age-appropriate activities under guidance of a Child Life Therapist.
• Monitors children’s activities and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment.
