Job summary

The ideal candidate has a culinary arts certificate or 2-3 years pastry experience, knowledge of sanitation standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or 2-3 years’ experience.
• Ability to create quality wedding cakes is an asset.
• Working knowledge of sugar work and chocolate skills is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery/pastry items for all outlets including banquet and a la carte functions.
• Assist in creating new dessert, pastry and bread products.
• Monitor and maintain bakery equipment daily.
• Maintain sanitation and food safety programs.
• Assist with ordering of bakery products as directed.
• Follow facility policies and service standards.
• Ensure proper receiving, storage and rotation of products per health codes.
• Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with Pastry Chef and team.
