Job summary

Oak View Group is seeking an Assistant Pastry Cook to support the Pastry Cook and culinary leadership at The Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, FL. This role involves daily pastry production, dessert prep, plating, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation during events.

You will work in a fast-paced, event-driven kitchen, follow established recipes, and adhere to safety standards while developing culinary skills and contributing to memorable desserts for our guests.

Qualifications

• Pastry experience in a high-volume kitchen, hotel, or catering environment is preferred.
• Food safety knowledge and sanitation regulations are required.
• Must obtain and maintain a ServSafe Food Handler card.
• Ability to work weekdays and weekends, including some mornings, noons, and evenings on an on-call/event-based schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pastry production, desserts, and baked goods according to recipes.
• Plate and present desserts for banquets, buffets, and à la carte service.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain sanitation.
• Maintain a clean, organized pastry station and stock levels.
• Communicate inventory needs to culinary leadership.
