Job summary

The Green Cat Bakery & Café in Weston, Vermont, is seeking a Pastry Cook who shares a passion for handcrafted pastries and meticulous technique. You will help produce laminated pastries, breads, cakes, and desserts, following established recipes and quality standards.

This role offers growth within a creative, collaborative kitchen and the opportunity to contribute to a menu that evolves daily. Ideal candidates have professional kitchen or bakery experience and a love of baking.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen or bakery preferred.
• Culinary school, baking program, or apprenticeship experience a plus.
• Knowledge of pastry techniques and baking processes.
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Baking & Production: Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, breads, and desserts according to established recipes.
• Preparation & Organization: Manage ingredients, tools, and equipment efficiently; label, store, and rotate products; maintain a clean workstation.
• Collaboration & Teamwork: Work with the Executive Pastry Chef and team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and assist during service periods.
• Quality Control & Presentation: Uphold visual and flavor standards; decorate baked goods with creativity and precision.
• Ongoing Learning: Stay informed on industry trends and master new recipes and procedures.
