Job summary

Bastion Hospitality LLC is seeking a pastry-focused line cook to oversee pastry areas and support service in a dynamic bakery and restaurant setting.

You will execute recipes, maintain equipment, and apply essential pastry techniques. The role requires 1–3 years of culinary experience, strong English communication, and flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant or similar establishment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; basic math skills required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to read, speak and interpret documents in clear English.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays).
• Passion for pursuing a career in hospitality and food service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned pastry areas and service.
• Execute recipes, maintain kitchen equipment, and be punctual.
• Apply basic pastry techniques: scaling, mixing, proofing, baking, decorating.
• Assist in developing a dynamic pastry program including seasonal specials.
• Ensure quality standards are met daily by the bakery team.
• Ensure start-of-shift items are ready; communicate needs promptly.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Oversees assigned areas of pastry production and works service.
• Execute recipes, maintain kitchen equipment, and always be on time.
• Use working knowledge of basic pastry techniques; scaling, mixing, proofing, baking, decorating, finishing, etc.
• Assist in the production of a dynamic pastry program for the restaurants and bakery including seasonal specials.
• As a member of the bakery team, ensure stated direction and guidance in quality standards are achieved daily.
• Assure all necessary items are in the restaurant/bakery at the start of the shift. Communicate any needs in appropriate timeframe, ensuring all ingredients represent the quality standards and are in line with the standards established by the Chef.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience professional cooking experience in restaurant or establishment of similar caliber.
• High School Diploma, or equivalent level of education, required (Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, speak and interpret documents in clear English.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule. (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
• You must be organized, motivating, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and of course personable. Working knowledge of reservation management systems is highly preferred.
