Job summary

Major Food Group's Carbone Miami is seeking a Pastry Cook to join our culinary team in Miami Beach. The role includes creating and preparing pastry items, planning desserts, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation.

The position pays $18.00 to $20.00 per hour and requires at least 2 years of experience in high-volume or fine dining environments, or a pastry diploma.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in high-volume and fine dining restaurants preferred but not required.
• Culinary diploma with a concentration in Pastry Arts or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
• Team-oriented and positive attitude.
• Strong communication skills a must.

Responsibilities

• Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business
• Prepare, clean and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
• Come up with recipe ideas from scratch
• Plan the menu of desserts and pastry to complement savory items
• Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
• Oversee a team of junior pastry cooks and other staff members as necessary
• Maintain up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients
• Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace

Major Food Group is looking for talented Pastry Cooksto join our culinary team at Carbone!

Carbone is an Italian-American restaurant created by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalanick. The restaurant pays homage to the essence of the great Italian-American restaurants of mid-20th century New York. The food nods to that history, but takes its culinary cues from the great talents and techniques of the present and future. Familiar dishes like Seafood Salad, Linguini Vongole, Lobster Fra Diavola, Chicken Scarpariello and Veal Parmesan elevated to a new level.
