Job description

The 'Quin House is a multi-award-winning modern private social club in Back Bay that brings together a diverse mix of interesting and interested members of all ages, industries, and backgrounds to forge meaningful connections, expand lives, and create a community of impact.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Bake and cook foods of exceptional quality for members and guests, ensuring timely service according to The Quin standards to maximize member satisfaction and provide an exceptional dining experience.
  2. Manage multiple cold and hot stations efficiently.
  3. Assist with preparation, presentation, decoration, and storage of pastry items.
  4. Prepare food, beverages, materials, and equipment in advance for service.
  5. Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, ingredients, stock levels, and current specials across venues.
  6. Perform opening and closing duties as per established checklists.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and organization at stations and service areas during shifts.
  8. Support team members with tasks, both independently and under management direction.
  9. Communicate effectively with team and management regarding relevant information, member considerations, and concerns.
  10. Re-stock supplies as needed and notify management of shortages.
  11. Report health and safety concerns immediately.
  12. Attend all informational meetings and training sessions.
  13. Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines for The Quin.
  14. Ensure the quality of all food prepared, taking full responsibility for it.
  15. Contribute to training new team members.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
  17. Assist in investigating member complaints related to food quality and service.

Position Requirements

  • 2-4 years of pastry experience preferred.
  • Experience in a hotel or restaurant setting preferred.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Support team collaboration, ownership, accountability, and responsibility.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; additional languages a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with good prioritization and follow-up skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, and Employment Legislation; demonstrated knife skills and safe food handling preferred.
  • Open availability and flexibility to meet business needs.
  • SERV Safe or equivalent certification preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Culinary arts education or related experience preferred.
