Job summary

Rustler Lodge Inc in Alta, Utah is seeking a Pastry Chef Assistant to support the head pastry chef in producing breads, pastries, and desserts for breakfast, lunch, après ski, and dinner.

This full-time seasonal role runs December 1 through mid-April with early morning shifts, onsite housing, a ski pass, and a collaborative kitchen environment to grow baking skills.

Pastry Chef Assistant

General role: Support head pastry chef in producing baked goods for lodge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Show up on time, in uniform ready to work
• Assist the baker in the preparation of made‑from‑scratch breads, pastries, and desserts served daily at breakfast, lunch, après ski, and dinner according to approved/successful recipes
• Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to complete all steps in the baking process
• Ensure the proper HACCP handling and labeling of food
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitary conditions of kitchen areas
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff as necessary
• Follow both written and verbal directions

• Must be able to obtain a valid Utah food handler permit

Work Schedule

• Exact hours set by lead baker, generally 2:00 am - 11:00 am, or until tasks complete
• Weekend and Holiday work required.
• No vacation as this is a seasonal position.

Accommodations

• This is a live in position. Onsite housing available. Bi weekly room and board charge of $125 includes three meals a day.
• Off-site housing is also available in our employees housing at the base of the canyon available for a bi-weekly room and board charge of $100 includes three meals a day
