Job summary

The Mexicano | Cactus in Scottsdale, AZ is hiring energetic Bakers and Cooks for a fast-paced, guest-focused kitchen. You’ll set up stations, prep ingredients, bake and cook menu items with consistent quality and presentation.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Baker, Cook, or in a similar kitchen role.
  • Knowledge of baking and cooking techniques, equipment, and procedures.
  • Experience using kitchen tools, cookware, and bakeware.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Culinary school training is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up workstations with all required ingredients and equipment.
  • Prepare ingredients for baking and cooking, including chopping, peeling, mixing, and portioning.
  • Bake and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Monitor food while cooking and baking to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Maintain attractive presentation and product quality.
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and sanitized.
  • Properly store food and ingredients according to safety standards.
  • Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality.
  • Assist with inventory and notify management of shortages.
  • Support a positive, team-oriented kitchen environment.
