Job description

Faith Family Fellowship is seeking a full-time senior pastor to lead our congregation. We desire a preaching, teaching pastor who is very strong in the pulpit, espouses a high view of God (Isaiah 6; Proverbs 9:10), believes in the absolute authority of Scripture (Matthew 4:4; 2 Timothy 3:16), dispenses sound doctrine (1 Timothy 4:6), and exhibits personal holiness (2 Corinthians 7:1; 1 Timothy 3).

We desire a pastor who is outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic, with the ability to create and maintain spiritual relationships while working effectively to elevate God, equip the saints, and evangelize the lost.

Faith Family Fellowship is currently celebrating 132 years of service to our Lord, and we are looking for a pastor who can carry on this legacy and grow our church for the future.

Responsibilities:
  1. Preaching and teaching the Word of God with clarity and relevance
  2. Providing pastoral care and counseling to congregation members
  3. Leading or facilitating Bible studies, prayer meetings, and other activities
  4. Collaborating with church leaders to guide church activities and programs
  5. Visiting those unable to attend church
  6. Engaging in community outreach and evangelism efforts to fulfill the Great Commission

Biblical Qualifications:

The Senior Pastor will be a man of established and true character, qualified to preach and teach the Word of God, as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. The Senior Pastor must be willing to perform his duties in accordance with the constitution and by-laws of this church.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Pastoral Care & Discipleship
  • Willingness to Grow
  • Ministry Experience of 5 or more years
Highly Preferential Qualifications:
  • Experience with Pastoral duties such as premarital counseling, weddings, funerals, grief counseling
  • Formal Ministry Education (Such as Seminary) Masters a plus
  • Senior/Lead Pastor experience
  • Biblical Counseling Certification a plus but not necessary
General Responsibilities:

The pastor is responsible for the overall health and direction of Faith Family Fellowship. In accordance with the purpose, vision, and constitution of the church, he leads with the Elders to accomplish the Great Commission and the Great Commandment and to implement our goals of evangelizing, making disciples, assimilating new members, worshipping the Lord, and meeting the needs of the community in ministry.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • The Senior Pastor is responsible for the weekly church service.
  • Providing pastoral care including, but not limited to, providing counsel, visits to shut-ins, funerals, etc.
  • Providing insight and presence to special ministries such as Easter, Christmas, and Vacation Bible School.
  • Providing direction and content for Sunday School(s) and Bible studies.
  • Working with the Deacons to ensure facilities and grounds are well cared for and maintained.
Compensation:

This is a paid position. The church also provides a budget for continuing education and professional expenses, retirement payment after one year of service, and medical insurance. A fully updated parsonage is provided in a local lake community for the pastor and family, along with a church vehicle for use.

Non-negotiable Qualifications:
  • Exhibits biblical qualifications of elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9)
  • Works hard in studying, preaching, and teaching the Scriptures (1 Timothy 5:17; 2 Timothy 2:15)
  • Able to defend sound doctrine with gentleness and humility, pursuing unity (2 Timothy 2:24-25; Ephesians 4:1-3)
  • Displays integrity and authenticity in word and deed (Titus 2:7-8)
  • Sets a good example in speech, behavior, love, faith, and purity (1 Timothy 4:12)
  • Able to affirm the Articles of Faith of FFF in good conscience
Desirable Experience and Educational Qualifications:
  • Five years of ministry experience
  • College degree or equivalent in biblical studies, theology, ministry, or biblical counseling; Masters preferred
  • Biblical counseling certification welcomed
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Clear communication, delegation, leadership, administrative skills, active listening, conflict resolution
