Job summary

Barilla seeks a Quality & Food Safety - Pasta Quality Associate in Northbrook, IL, a hybrid role supporting the plants’ Q&T teams and ensuring adherence to HACCP and FSSC22000 standards. You will drive continuous quality improvements across Barilla’s US operations and collaborate with R&D, marketing, and operations.

The role requires certification and strong analytical skills, with up to 15% travel in the US/Canada and potential international travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry.
• HACCP certification.
• PCQI / FSMA certification.
• GFSI Lead Auditor (FSSC, SQF, BRC, and/or other equivalent) certification.
• Strong organizational, collaborative, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the implementation of corporate policies and procedures for quality and food safety in plants; develop improvement plans.
• Regularly check compliance and implement actions for misalignment.
• Train plants on international standard FSSC22000 and organize the internal audit program.
• Analyze data (customer complaints, lot quality index) to identify drifts and improvements.
• Lead teams addressing improvement plans and cross-functional problem solving.
• Support quality control activities in the plants.
• Check surveillance plans based on risk assessment and data review.
• Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Operations and Q&T Plant Managers on new products in line with QFS rules.
• Identify and lead culture of quality initiatives including Regional PQR and product quality reviews.
