Job summary

Main Event is seeking a Party Host in Connecticut to welcome guests, guide activities, and ensure fun, safe birthday celebrations. You will engage with guests, manage event flow, and assist the party parent to deliver a seamless experience.

Previous food/beverage or hosting experience is a plus; strong communication and a team-focused mindset are essential. This role offers a dynamic, customer-facing environment with a support-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in food and beverage or service roles is a plus but not required.
• Must be guest-focused and capable of engaging with guests throughout the event.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with staff to ensure smooth events.
• Attention to detail and the ability to multitask during busy party times.
• Excellent communication with management, teammates, and guests.
• Flexible availability for days, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and host activities throughout the party.
• Engage with party guests to create memorable experiences.
• Monitor events and anticipate party needs to support the party parent/planner.
• Collect and store birthday gifts and cake as applicable.
• Process payments and greet guests returning to the venue.
• Set up, break down, and clean before and after each party.
• Maintain cleanliness and uphold safety standards throughout the event.

At Main Event, our Party Hosts are the life of the party and create unforgettable birthday memories! As a Party Host, you are enthusiastic and relentless in creating FUN birthday celebrations, all while having a little fun yourself! You know the details of the event inside and out and can manage the scheduled birthday activities, so our birthday parents don’t have to! You’re also dedicated to delivering the highest standards in safety and sanitation.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING DAILY?

• Welcome and engage with arriving birthday parties and serving as their Host throughout their scheduled activities (let’s get this party started!)
• Creating memorable experiences by interacting and engaging with the party Guests throughout the birthday event
• Ensuring memorable birthday experiences by monitoring events, anticipating party needs, and aiding the party parent/party planner
• Gathering and storing birthday gifts and cake (if applicable)
• Processing payment transactions and welcoming our Guests back
• Setting up, breaking down, and cleaning before and after each party event
• Upholding our cleanliness and safety standards (We take this seriously!)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Prior food and beverage or Party Host experience is a plus but not required
• Guest-focused mindset (We heart our Guests!)
• Teamwork is a must (Teamwork makes the dream work!)
• Attention to detail and strong multi-tasking skills
• Can effectively communicate with Management, Team Members, and Guests
• Availability to workdays, nights and/or weekends
