Description
The Parts Specialist is responsible for assisting customers and internal departments with their parts needs. The Parts Specialist is the first point of contact for incoming phone and walk-in parts requests and is responsible for maintaining and building customer relationships. The Parts Specialist prospects and facilitates cold calls on Conquest and competitive accounts.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Fulfills customer and service department parts requests with in-stock inventory, orders additional parts from vendors as needed to complete order.
- Receives, checks-in and distributes all parts delivered on a daily basis.
- Keeps the showroom and parts warehouse clean and organized.
- Matches orders to pack slips.
- Collects customer payments and helps maintain accurate customer records.
- Helps customer identify parts needs, offers and explains alternative solutions.
- Uses web based parts catalogs, printed parts manuals, and vendor product catalogs to correctly identify replacement part stock numbers and prices.
- Completes sales by entering purchased items into business system, obtains payments, adds purchases to account, issues sales receipts, and processes returns.
- Maintains parts inventory and places vendor orders when minimum levels are reached.
- Stocks items, unpacks, arranges and places items in bins and on shelves
- Upsells customers in face to face environment.
- Learns and maintains working knowledge base of all parts, participates in continuing education opportunities provided by company and factory.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Qualifications
Desired Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous parts sales or sales experience
- Equipment knowledge or previous industry experiences a plus
- Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service, must have good people skills
- Ability to think quickly and solve problems
- Computer skills required including Microsoft applications as required. Experience with business systems a plus. Good telephone manner also required
- Can-do attitude is a must, as is the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to operate a forklift in safe and correct manner
- Able to bend, squat, or climb on equipment frequently
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- May occasionally work in extremely hot or extremely cold weather conditions
- Background check and pre-employment drug testing required
- Personal appearance must be neat and clean
