Job Description
The Parts Specialist will provide all retail and installer customers with a high level of service. This position will also support store management in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
Essential Job Functions
- Follow and promote all company customer service programs, i.e., Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, etc.
- Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers in a friendly, courteous manner and assist them in their selection of merchandise.
- Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed and directed.
- Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
- Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by answering all calls according to company policy, accurately looking up parts and quote prices, recommending related items, and offering the Low-Price Guarantee.
- Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept cash and checks, make change, and process credit card transactions.
- Process exchanges and returns in accordance with company policies.
- Address and resolve customer complaints amicably.
- Assist with daily tasks such as freight receival, stocking shelves, and planogram updates.
- Perform operational tasks like merchandise returns, stock adjustments, and inventory counts.
- Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training.
- Perform in-store services like installing wipers, testing batteries, and scanning vehicle trouble codes (where legal).
- Drive a delivery vehicle as needed, provided driving record meets requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education, and Experience
Required:
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
- Outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service skills
- Ability to multitask handling customers on phone and in-store simultaneously
Desired:
- Knowledge of automotive parts, cataloging, and sales or service
- ASE certification
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish preferred)
