Job summary

Astec is seeking a parts specialist to determine customer requirements, price quotes, and place orders. You will work with engineering, service, controls, sales, shipping and production to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities include locating parts, preparing quotes, processing orders, and coordinating with multiple departments. Occasional travel to customer and dealer sites is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to speak and write in English fluently; excellent oral and written communication skills.
• 0–2 years of work experience in similar environment.
• Some experience in mechanical or machinery related industry preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings preferred.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Must be able to meet regular attendance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Astec direct customers and dealers with parts requirements and quotes.
• Locate the correct parts and prepare quotations as requested.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure customer requests are met.
• Accurately process all parts sales orders.
• Follow up on quotes and orders with customers.
• Travel 1–3 times a year to call on direct customers and dealers; plant visits, trade shows, dealer visits.
