Job summary

McCandless Truck Center is seeking a Parts Purchasing Manager to oversee supplier relationships, inventory control, and purchasing processes across the network. The role focuses on maintaining fill rate, reducing excess stock, and supporting branch operations with accurate stock levels.

The ideal candidate has strong purchasing experience, analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel and Power BI to optimize costs and performance across multiple departments and locations.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and analytical skills are required.
• Experience in purchasing, inventory control, and supplier management is essential.
• Experience with min/max inventory settings and managing open purchase orders is preferred.
• Ability to analyze reports and supplier performance to guide decisions.
• Proficiency in company software systems and data upkeep is expected.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support reliable supply chains.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, freight programs, and vendor support.
• Monitor vendor performance including fill rate, lead times, and backorders; resolve issues.
• Manage inventory levels to minimize excess stock and obsolescence.
• Place and manage purchase orders based on demand and branching needs.
• Review and clean up open POs and resolve discrepancies; ensure timely follow-through.
• Generate reports to support purchasing decisions and financial analysis.
• Support branch operations and cross-department collaboration to ensure parts availability.
