Job summary

Coachcraft by MacDonald is seeking a parts manager to oversee inventory, assist customers, and support shop personnel with parts during repairs. The role emphasizes accurate inventory control, timely invoicing, and cross-department collaboration.

The ideal candidate has prior retail parts experience and knowledge of big truck parts, along with strong communication and organizational skills. This on-site position runs 7:00 a.m.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory, order parts, receive parts, and label them correctly.
• Assist customers in person and by phone, and resolve ordering/invoicing issues.

• Price parts to maintain profitability and oversee special orders.
• Turn in invoices and POs to accounting and avoid duplicate entries.
• Keep expenses down and maintain a clean, organized parts department.

Job description

We are a 2nd generation family owned business that does service, restoration, remodeling and other specialty work to motor homes and travel trailers. Coachcraft by MacDonald is looking for a parts manager for our fast paced business with previous retail parts experience, knowledge of big truck parts and previous inventory management experience. The parts manager responsibilities include managing inventory, assisting customers both by phone and in person and assisting shop personnel with parts needed for coaches during repair in shop.

Inventory management:

• Ordering parts and maintaining optimal inventory levels. This can include receiving parts, placing them in inventory and labeling them properly. Creating POs in system and applying parts to the correct job that they are installed on.
• Parts manager may also conduct monthly audits to manage inventory and will be responsible for year-end counting of inventory.

Customer Service:

• Helping customers find and purchase the correct parts and resolving any ordering and invoicing issues.
• Parts manager should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to discuss customer requirements and liaise with other departments.

Other duties of a parts manager may include but are not limited to:

• Pricing parts to maintain profitability.
• Overseeing special orders.
• Collaborating with Service Manager, Shop Foreman and General Manager to ensure parts are available for repair jobs.
• Turning in all invoices and PO's to the accounting office in a timely manner without creating duplicate entries.
• Keeping expenses down.
• Maintaining a clean and organized parts department.

Schedule:

• Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Monday-Friday.
