Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic accounting and inventory record keeping.
• Knowledge of purchasing procedures, preferred.
• Ability to use personal computer and automated inventory system.
• Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Locate and requisition all parts, materials, and supplies needed for vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Assist Shop Foreman in maintaining accurate records of fuel use and orders or requisitions of fuel.
• Contact vendors to check on availability of parts and supplies.
• Collaborate with purchasing to develop specifications, sources, availability, pricing, shipping, and receiving of parts and supplies.
• Maintain parts catalogs and order books.
• Maintain inventory and initiate purchase orders to keep inventory levels.
• Create and maintain records including computerized inventory.
• Open crates, unpack items, and inspect for damage.
• Receive deliveries and verify accuracy against invoices and purchase orders; record discrepancies.
