Highway Transport in Houston, TX is seeking a Parts Coordinator to support the Shop Manager and Equipment Cleaning by managing parts inventories and using the inventory system to maximize usage and minimize waste. The role involves processing work orders, tracking vendor charges, and ensuring accurate parts handling.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal liability insurance coverage meeting state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work orders are entered and processed accurately.
• Track charges from vendor invoices to ensure the charges are correct.
• Maintain organized inventory of parts used by technicians for repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Learn new technology related to maintenance and repair of tractor trailers and parts.
• Monitor vendors for pricing and serviceability.
• Prepare and ship parts to outlying facilities as needed.
• Monitor usage rates of parts and adjust inventory as needed.
• Perform daily cycle counts of maintenance parts.
• Advise Shop Manager of issues pertaining to parts or inventory.
• Operate a forklift to move and load parts.
• Be responsible for security of inventory and analysis of part quality.
