Job summary

HP Hood is seeking a Parts and Purchasing Assistant to manage inventory and purchasing for the Vernon Plant. The role requires organizing stock, processing orders, and ensuring accurate delivery of parts. The position supports SQF standards and maintains orderly stockroom operations.

Hours are typically Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm with overtime as needed. The company emphasizes safety, quality, and employee development while offering a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two to three years’ experience in inventory management.
• Technical knowledge of machinery and parts.
• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Vernon Plant’s inventory and accounting management system.
• Issue purchase orders and log invoices to maintain inventory of parts.
• Review purchase orders to ensure accurate delivery of goods.
• Receive and distribute inbound deliveries to the appropriate departments.
• Assist in ensuring items are checked out of stock and recorded.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal and external customer questions about parts/stockroom.
• Prepare and participate in physical inventory.
• Uphold safety and cleanliness standards in designated areas.
• Order parts from main and alternate vendors as needed.
