Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. in Warner Robins, GA is seeking a Parts Clerk to manage end-to-end parts and equipment flow. You will source, receive, verify, organize, and distribute parts to minimize downtime in a hands-on role.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: coordinate and control the inventory program, including receiving, storing, and distributing parts.
  • Purchasing & Sourcing: assist in purchasing a variety of parts and supplies; source equipment to keep operations cost-effective.
  • Receiving & Verification: manage receipt of parts; ensure items checked in and orders match.
  • Data & Documentation: maintain accurate CMMS records and up-to-date data entry.
  • Organization & Maintenance: keep the parts room and maintenance area orderly and safe.
  • Communication: liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to optimize processes.
  • Waste Treatment System: monitor and document system; communicate issues with site leadership and safety team.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by supervision.

Job description

The Parts Clerk supports our maintenance and production operations. This is a hands-on role, responsible for the end-to-end management of parts and equipment—from sourcing and purchasing to receipt, organization, and distribution. The parts clerk plays a critical role in minimizing downtime by ensuring that essential tools, equipment and parts are readily available and that all inventory records remain accurate within our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate and control the inventory program, including receiving, storing, and distributing parts. Monitor stock levels to ensure critical spares are available for manufacturing operations.
  • Purchasing & Sourcing: Assist in purchasing a variety of parts and supplies. Source necessary equipment to keep operations running cost-effectively.
  • Receiving & Verification: Manage the receipt of all parts, ensuring items are properly checked in, paperwork is verified, and equipment matches order specifications.
  • Data & Documentation: Maintain accurate records by charging parts to the proper accounts using the CMMS and ensuring all data entry is up to date.
  • Organization & Maintenance: Maintain the parts room and maintenance area in an orderly and safe manner.
  • Communication: Liaise effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to optimize processes and meet operational needs.
  • Waste Treatment System: monitor and document system. Communicate any issues with site leadership and safety team.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: High school diploma/GED with experience in purchasing, inventory control, and vendor coordination (manufacturing or municipal preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in CMMS and administrative software; ability to interpret equipment design to optimize costs and train personnel.
  • Core Competencies: Proficient in high school-level math (measurements, volume, rates) and capable of reading/writing technical manuals and safety reports.
  • Leadership & Compliance: Strong crisis management and time management skills; familiar with OSHA, DEQ, and EEO regulations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50–100 lbs and perform active tasks (standing, crawling, kneeling) in a loud, industrial environment.
  • Soft Skills: Highly organized and proactive; able to communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
