Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory of MRO/Automotive parts and supplies.

  • Coordinate with technicians, planners, and engineers to verify parts availability.
  • Manage ordering, receiving, stocking, issuing, and distribution to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure 5S compliant, clean and organized parts storage area.
  • Interface with vendors for quotes, deliveries, returns and warranty claims.
  • Code and process invoices for proper cost allocation and timely payment.
  • Monitor inventory levels, usage trends, supplier performance, and valuation.
  • Support continuous improvement in parts management and CMMS accuracy.
  • Assist with audits, cycle counts, and compliance with inventory controls.

Job description

The Lead Parts Coordinator is a specialized support role responsible for the accurate management, organization, and distribution of maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO/Automotive) spare parts within a manufacturing environment. This position requires strong working knowledge of inventory control, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), part kitting processes, and mechanical and electrical components used in industrial equipment. The role ensures that maintenance technicians receive complete and accurate parts kits for preventive and corrective work, that inventory levels are properly maintained, and that parts procurement and storage activities support efficient plant operations and minimal production downtime. In addition, the Lead Parts Coordinator provides daily guidance and coordination for inventory support personnel, ensuring the parts room remains clean, compliant, and well organized while maintaining accurate inventory records and efficient material flow.

  • Maintain accurate inventory of maintenance, repair, and operating ( MRO/Automotive ) parts and supplies.
  • Use the CMMS to track parts usage, maintain inventory accuracy, create purchase requisitions, receive materials, and manage reorder levels.
  • Build and issue complete part kits for planned preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and corrective repair work orders.
  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians, planners, and engineering staff to identify required parts and verify their availability.
  • Manage part ordering, receiving, stocking, issuing, and distribution processes to minimize downtime.
  • Direct and coordinate daily activities of the Plant Engineering Inventory Specialist and Parts Courier to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, labeled, and efficient parts storage area consistent with 5S and inventory control best practices.
  • Interface with vendors to obtain quotes, coordinate deliveries, process returns, and support warranty claims.
  • Accurately code and process invoices and credit card transactions to ensure proper cost allocation and timely payment.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels, parts usage trends, supplier performance, and inventory valuation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance parts management processes, CMMS accuracy, and kitting effectiveness.
  • Assist with audits, cycle counts, and compliance with company inventory control procedures.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Verifiable experience managing MRO/Automotive parts inventory, including ordering, tracking, and maintaining stock levels.
  • Two or more years of experience using a CMMS (SAP PM, Infor EAM, Maximo, or similar) in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience performing part kitting for preventive maintenance or equipment repair tasks.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical components used in industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
