Parts Counterperson - Town and Country Toyota

Sonic Automotive

The Parts Counterperson is responsible for picking up and delivering parts, executing assigned tasks set by the department manager, and administering internal procedures and reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate last-minute pick-ups or deliveries with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter staff, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving.
2. Consult with the body shop to determine immediate parts needs.
3. Deliver parts to the body shop and distribute parts to technicians.
4. Verify that invoices match purchase orders for each pick-up.
5. Check payments received against invoices for each delivery.
6. Maintain an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups, collecting signatures on each entry.
7. Unload deliveries, submit paperwork, and handle undelivered parts.
8. Perform basic maintenance on delivery trucks (e.g., refueling, oil checks, organization).
9. Report major repairs or maintenance needs of delivery trucks to the parts manager.
10. Assist the service department with managing customer car drop-offs and pickups.
11. Help stock and post orders upon arrival to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
12. Follow all safety policies and procedures, reporting accidents immediately to a supervisor.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in an automotive dealership parts department.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and assist effectively.
• Knowledge of automotive parts and their applications.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
• Willing to undergo pre-employment requirements: drug testing, background check, MVR.

• Full-time, 5 days a week with 2 days off, including weekend availability.
