Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers at the parts counter, addressing inquiries, and offering expert advice on parts selection.
- Handle phone inquiries and provide information on parts availability, pricing, and compatibility.
- Efficiently and accurately process parts orders, ensuring timely delivery to customers and service technicians.
- Collaborate with vendors and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing parts shipments.
- Monitor and maintain adequate levels of inventory to meet customer demand.
- Conduct regular stock checks, reconcile discrepancies, and update inventory records in the dealership's system.
- Utilize technical knowledge to assist customers and service technicians in identifying the correct parts for repairs and maintenance.
- Stay informed about new products and advancements in automotive parts to provide up-to-date information.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately, providing customers with receipts for transactions.
- Collaborate with the service and sales departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of parts orders.
Job Description
The Parts Counterperson is responsible for picking up and delivering parts and for carrying out those jobs and/or assignments set forth by the department manager. This person will administer internal procedures and reports.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Check with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last-minute pick-ups or deliveries.
- Check with the body shop to determine immediate parts needs.
- Deliver parts to the body shop and distribute parts to technicians.
- Verify invoice match/purchase order for each pick-up.
- Check payments received with invoices for each delivery.
- Keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups and collect signatures on each delivery entry.
- Unload deliveries and turn in paperwork and undelivered parts.
- Handle basic maintenance of the delivery truck (filling tank with gas, checking oil, organization).
- Advise parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
- Assist service department with attendant responsibilities (managing the drop-off and pick-up of customers' cars).
- Help with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any accidents to a manager or supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in an automotive dealership parts department.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and provide excellent assistance.
- Knowledge of automotive parts and their applications.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Must be authorized to work in the USA.
- Willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: Drug testing, background check, MVR.

- Full Time
- 5 days a week / 2 days off
- Weekend availability required
