The Parts Counterperson provides exceptional service at the parts counter, assisting customers with inquiries, processing orders, and ensuring the seamless flow of parts to our service technicians. Your role involves maintaining optimal inventory levels, collaborating with vendors, and staying informed about the latest automotive advancements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers at the parts counter, addressing inquiries, and offering expert advice on parts selection.
  2. Handle phone inquiries and provide information on parts availability, pricing, and compatibility.
  3. Efficiently and accurately process parts orders, ensuring timely delivery to customers and service technicians.
  4. Collaborate with vendors and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing parts shipments.
  5. Monitor and maintain adequate levels of inventory to meet customer demand.
  6. Conduct regular stock checks, reconcile discrepancies, and update inventory records in the dealership's system.
  7. Utilize technical knowledge to assist customers and service technicians in identifying the correct parts for repairs and maintenance.
  8. Stay informed about new products and advancements in automotive parts to provide up-to-date information.
  9. Handle cash and process payments accurately, providing customers with receipts for transactions.
  10. Collaborate with the service and sales departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of parts orders.
Job Description

The Parts Counterperson is responsible for picking up and delivering parts and for carrying out tasks set forth by the department manager. This includes administering internal procedures and reports.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter staff, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to arrange last-minute pick-ups or deliveries.
  2. Check with the body shop to determine immediate parts needs.
  3. Deliver parts to the body shop and distribute parts to technicians.
  4. Verify that invoices match purchase orders for each pick-up.
  5. Check payments received against invoices for each delivery.
  6. Keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups, collecting signatures on each delivery entry.
  7. Unload deliveries, turn in paperwork, and handle undelivered parts.
  8. Perform basic maintenance on the delivery truck (e.g., fueling, oil checks, organization).
  9. Report major repairs or maintenance needs for delivery trucks to the parts manager.
  10. Assist the service department with responsibilities related to managing the drop-off and pick-up of customer cars.
  11. Help stock and post orders upon arrival to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
  12. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, reporting any accidents immediately.
  13. Require 1+ years of experience in an automotive dealership parts department.
  14. Possess strong customer service skills to build rapport and provide excellent assistance.
  15. Have knowledge of automotive parts and their applications.
  16. Be familiar with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
  17. Be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  18. Must be authorized to work in the USA.
  19. Willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: drug testing, background check, MVR.
Schedule
  • Full Time
  • Work 5 days a week with 2 days off
  • Weekend availability required
