Walt Massey Chevrolet of Hattiesburg is seeking a parts sales associate to manage the parts sales process and assist customers and staff with pricing, catalog lookups, and order fulfillment.

You will read parts catalogs, provide quotes, and work with service and body shop teams to ensure correct parts and pricing. A friendly, professional demeanor and strong math skills are essential in a fast-paced dealership setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; prior auto parts sales experience preferred.
• Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
• Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Ability to calculate figures including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %, area, circumference, and volume.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Converse effectively regarding customer parts status.
• Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up parts.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information to customers.
• Review body shop estimates to verify parts and pricing align with the estimate.
• Provide high level service to internal and external customers.
• Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks for accuracy.
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or urgent shop materials.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders.
• Ensure internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
• Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
