I-State Truck Center in Billings, MT is seeking a Second Shift Parts Counter Representative (12:30pm-9:00pm, M-F). You will source and price parts, manage inventory, and assist technicians and customers with heavy‑duty truck parts needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer service or retail experience preferred in automotive/heavy-duty parts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computerized inventory systems and basic computer apps.
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects; work independently and in a team.
• Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lookup, price, and purchase parts for on-highway diesel trucks, off-highway, and mining equipment.
• Fill requisitions and distribute items to technicians.
• Enter and pick customer orders from stock.
• Drive to local vendors to source parts and materials.
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Utilize inventory systems to locate parts and check availability.
• Process orders, invoicing, and payments accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized parts counter and workspace.
• Assist with receiving and stocking parts shipments.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.

I-State Truck Center is looking for a Second Shift Parts Counter Representative for our Billings Montana location. We are looking for candidates that have any parts counter experience with a preference on heavy duty trucks or equipment. In this role you will source and purchase parts, managing parts inventory as well as pricing parts for our customers and technicians so familiarity with computer-based parts program is a plus. As a Parts Counter Representative, you will play a crucial role in assisting customers and technicians with their heavy‑duty truck parts needs. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, identifying, and locating the correct parts, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining inventory levels. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering top‑notch service to our valued customers. Duties

• Lookup, price, and purchase parts for on highway diesel trucks, off-highway, and mining equipment
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to technicians
• Enter and pick customer orders from stock
• Drive to local vendors and pick up parts and material for orders
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Utilize computerized inventory systems to locate parts and check availability
• Process parts orders accurately and efficiently, including invoicing and accepting payment
• Maintain a clean and organized parts counter and work area
• Assist with receiving and stocking parts shipments
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment, preferably in automotive or heavy duty equipment parts sales
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in using computerized inventory systems and basic computer applications
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as necessary
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexibility to work weekends or evenings, as needed

Qualities

• Experience working with automotive or heavy equipment parts and accessories
• Knowledge of heavy duty truck and equipment systems and components
• Familiarity with automotive parts cataloging systems (e.g., Electronic Parts Catalog)
• Prior experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems
