Job summary

Webb Hyundai Merrillville is seeking a Parts Counter Person to drive retail parts sales and deliver excellent customer service. You will manage inventory, assist customers with parts selections, and coordinate with the parts team to source items not in stock.

Strong communication, basic computer skills, and a positive, professional demeanor are essential. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with prior auto parts or dealership exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of automobiles and parts knowledge is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a service department or auto parts environment.
• Experience with auto parts sales is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.

• Handle special order part requests for customers.
• Communicate status of parts to customers and staff.

Parts Counter Person Responsibilities:

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
• Work with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock
• Complete special order part request for the customer
• Communicate with customer on parts status
• Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Must follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations applicable to industry

Parts Counter Person Requirements:

• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is a plus
• Ability to identify the problem quickly
• Knowledge of automobiles
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• Minimum of 1 year in service department
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
