Job summary

Four Star Freightliner, a leading truck dealer in Montgomery, AL, is seeking a Parts Counter Sales professional to assist customers in selecting parts, provide quotes, and manage orders. This role supports both retail and shop customers, ensuring accurate invoicing and timely order fulfillment.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in automotive parts-related work, a high school diploma, and experience serving the public in a sales or service capacity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in heavy-duty or automotive parts-related work.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Experience working with the public in a sale or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional manner.
• Inform customers of companion parts and specials and expose full product line.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information.
• Pull and fill orders from stock and replenish inventory daily.
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials needing attention.
• Assist outside sales reps with orders and ensure signed charge sales and invoicing.

Job description

Four Star Freightliner is the Southeast region’s leading heavy and medium-duty truck dealer that offers a comprehensive line of Freightliner and Western Star brand trucks for both highway and vocational use. We are currently seeking a Parts Counter Sales for our Montgomery, AL location.

• Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
• Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the customeris exposed to the full product line
• Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
• Provides high level of service to internal and external customers
• Pulls and fills orders from stock
• Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
• Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order if necessary
• Follows up on back-ordered parts
• Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those itemsnot picked up or required
• Replenishes assigned inventory daily
• Assists outside sales representatives with their orders
• Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer
• Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice
• Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified
• Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up
• Solicits assigned accounts by phone
• Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered
• Participates in company required training
• Keeps current on new products and product updates
• Participates with the manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program
• Maintains a professional appearance
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience in heavy-duty or automotive parts-related work
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Experience working with the public in a sale or service environment
