Job summary

Four Star Freightliner in Midway, FL is seeking a Parts Counter Sales associate to assist customers in selecting parts, quote prices, and process orders. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and maintaining an organized workspace, with responsibilities across counter operations and phone inquiries.

Candidates should have at least two years in heavy-duty or automotive parts, a high school diploma or GED, and strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assists customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
• Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures exposure to full product line.
• Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
• Pulls and fills orders from stock.
• Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order if necessary.
• Follows up on back-ordered parts.
• Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors.
• Replenishes assigned inventory daily.
• Assists outside sales representatives with their orders.
• Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer and invoices are provided.

Four Star Freightliner is the Southeast region’s leading heavy and medium-duty truck dealer that offers a comprehensive line of Freightliner and Western Star brand trucks for both highway and vocational use. We are currently seeking a Parts Counter Sales for our Midway, FL location.

• Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
• Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line
• Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
• Provides high level of service to internal and external customers
• Pulls and fills orders from stock
• Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
• Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order if necessary
• Follows up on back-ordered parts
• Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required
• Replenishes assigned inventory daily
• Assists outside sales representatives with their orders
• Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer
• Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice
• Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified
• Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up
• Solicits assigned accounts by phone
• Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered
• Participates in company required training
• Keeps current on new products and product updates
• Participates with the manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program
• Maintains a professional appearance
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience in heavy-duty or automotive parts-related work
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Experience working with the public in a sale or service environment
