Job Description

Under the close direction of a District Manager, you will have the opportunity to allocate and distribute parts and materials for service repairs and customer orders, handle parts orders, and perform other assigned Parts Department functions, including inventory control of parts and materials in stock and on order. You will be in frequent contact with branch employees, customers, and outside staff, building and maintaining good customer relations.

General Duties:

1. Maintain inventory control system, including updating computer records and assisting with audits.
2. Requisition parts from Troy, OH, follow up on purchase orders, and manage back orders.
3. Assist in training or cross-training other office staff as needed.
4. Receive parts from warehouse, verify with packing slips, and match invoices with purchase orders.
5. Process Return Apparatus Tags (RAT) involving warranty claims and verify warranty credits.
6. Assist with replenishing truck inventories and handle parts transfers between Hobart Branches.
7. Handle over-the-counter sales to walk-in customers, stock and pull parts, and assist with tracking consignment.
8. Prepare reports on order status, parts, and material shortages.
9. Stay updated on new products and related parts for modifications.
10. Process mail orders and telephone orders from customers, including writing up orders and quoting prices.
11. Follow up with customers and technicians regarding parts availability.
12. Manage credits for returned merchandise and handle telephone requests from technicians.
13. Follow up on all pending credits and manage cycle counts/inventories.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• High School diploma, Business/trade school diploma, or GED.
• At least 1 year of parts or clerical experience involving ordering, shipping, receiving, sales, or inventory control.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Preferably, experience with inventory management.

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting for prolonged periods.
• Extensive phone use.
• Lifting 50-75 lbs with or without assistance.
• Climbing up to 8 ft with a ladder.
• Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/pulling.
• Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, and wet conditions.
• Overtime as required.
