Job summary

Turner Mining Group seeks a Parts Clerk to manage the on-site storeroom and support maintenance for heavy mining equipment. You’ll ensure the right parts are issued to work orders to keep production downtime low.

You report to the maintenance team and collaborate with mechanics, planners, and vendors, utilizing the site CMMS and established purchasing channels. A defined parts budget and safety procedures guide every transaction.

Qualifications

• Proven storeroom or parts experience in manufacturing, heavy equipment, construction materials, or an industrial setting.
• Hands-on use of an inventory or CMMS system to receive, issue, count, and reconcile parts against work orders.
• Ability to read part numbers, equipment manuals, and bills of materials to match components.
• Working knowledge of min/max, critical spares, and lead times to prevent stockouts.
• Comfort with forklifts or powered equipment and a strong safety record.
• Clear written updates and discipline to close transactions the same day they happen.

Responsibilities

• Issue the correct part to the correct work order on the first request.
• Maintain inventory accuracy at or above site target through receiving, putaway, cycle counts, and adjustments.
• Identify critical and long-lead parts before stockouts and plan replenishment.
• Receive, inspect, and stage inbound parts the same shift; flag damage or shortages before entry.
• Reduce obsolete, duplicate, and slow-moving stock by recommending min/max changes and returns.
• Keep the storeroom orderly, labeled, and compliant with safety rules and hazardous materials handling.
• Provide supervisors a clear weekly picture of backorders, critical lows, and parts delaying open work orders.
