Job summary

Shoppa’s Material Handling is seeking a Parts Associate to research and supply parts and accessories over the counter, by phone or in the shop. You will ensure stock levels and inventory by requisitioning through various sources while delivering excellent customer service in a collaborative, team environment.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of parts handling experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems like Navision or SAP.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years parts handling experience; prefer 2 years material handling equipment parts experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); MS Navision, SAP preferred
  • Auto, truck, military or industrial equipment parts handling will be considered
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a team player

Responsibilities

  • Keep constant communication with dispatch and field technicians on daily schedules, order status and needed parts
  • Coordinate with shop manager and shop technicians on order status and needed parts
  • Greet and serve every client courteously and promptly
  • Answer questions and assist them in identifying and obtaining needed parts
  • Fulfill orders and requests for information efficiently via telephone as well as over-the-counter clients
  • Specify and identify parts needed to meet client requirements, so that number of parts returns due to errors is low
  • Maintain accurate sales and inventory records of all line items
  • Ensure parts are charged to repair orders
  • Requisition non-stock or special-order parts
  • Follow up on special ordered items, and notify the client or technicians when received
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary
  • Upgrade knowledge of products and services and maintain professional and technical expertise by training on-the-job
  • Manage and assign field technicians to service calls in your region
  • Receive customer calls
  • Determine the customers’ needs and urgency
  • Analyze current schedule
  • Finalize the service call date and time with the customer
  • Enter the service request and call notes into the system
  • Assign a technician to the service call
  • Ensure the necessary parts are ready for the job
  • Confirm job completion and document result of job
  • Collect and document technician labor hours
  • Review billing information to ensure accuracy

Job Summary

The Parts Associate will be responsible for researching and supplying parts and accessories over the counter, through the shop or on the phone to meet internal and external customers’ requests. Ensures appropriate stock and inventory of parts and accessories by requisitioning through various sources. The ideal candidate should be able to work in a team environment, be mechanically inclined, stay organized and possess strong communication skills. Physical Demands

Sitting, standing, and walking (up to continuously); frequent use of computer and telephone requiring repetitive finger, hand, and arm movement; occasionally carry office supplies and other miscellaneous items up to 50 pounds. Continuous use of seeing, hearing, verbal communication.

Working Conditions

Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to temperatures commensurate with outdoor seasonal temperatures.
