Job summary

Swickard Auto Group's Subaru of Santa Monica dealership is seeking a Parts Advisor to manage the counter, receive shipments, and ship parts to service technicians. You will ensure parts availability, accurate pricing, and timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has automotive parts counter or dealership experience, familiarity with Reynolds & Reynolds, and a valid driver's license. This role blends desk work with active warehouse duties and offers competitive hourly pay

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive parts counter or dealership environment.
• Comfort with shipping, receiving, and warehouse duties.
• Detail-oriented with accurate parts transactions and inventory records.
• Ability to multitask across counter requests, phone inquiries, and warehouse tasks.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Serve retail and internal customers at the counter and by phone with accurate parts information, pricing, and availability.
• Assist service technicians and advisors with parts lookup, ordering, and timely delivery.
• Receive incoming parts shipments and inspect for accuracy and damage.
• Prepare and ship outgoing parts orders with proper packaging and labeling.
• Maintain bin organization, warehouse cleanliness, and inventory accuracy.
• Process parts orders, returns, warranty claims, and core submissions.
• Follow up on back-ordered and special-order parts with technicians and advisors.
• Support additional parts department duties to keep operations running smoothly.

The Parts Advisor keeps that operation stocked, organized, and moving -- handling the counter, managing receiving and shipping, and making sure every technician and customer gets what they need without delay.

What You'll Do

• Serve retail and internal customers at the counter and by phone -- providing accurate parts information, pricing, and availability with professionalism and efficiency
• Assist service technicians and advisors with parts lookup, ordering, and timely delivery to keep the service department productive
• Receive incoming parts shipments -- inspecting for accuracy and damage, checking against purchase orders, and processing inventory into the system
• Prepare and ship outgoing parts orders -- packaging, labeling, and coordinating with carriers accurately and on time
• Maintain bin organization, warehouse cleanliness, and inventory accuracy throughout the department
• Process parts orders, returns, warranty claims, and core submissions accurately in Reynolds & Reynolds
• Follow up on back-ordered and special-order parts -- communicating proactively with technicians and service advisors on status
• Support additional parts department duties as needed to keep the operation running efficiently

What We're Looking For

• Automotive parts counter or dealership experience preferred -- shipping, receiving, or warehouse backgrounds also strongly considered
• Reynolds & Reynolds experience preferred -- familiarity with parts lookup and order processing in R&R is a significant advantage
• Subaru or import brand parts experience a plus
• Able to multitask effectively -- managing counter requests, phone inquiries, and warehouse duties simultaneously
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs or more -- receiving, stocking, and shipping are active parts of this role
• Detail-oriented and accurate -- parts transactions and inventory records need to be right every time
• Clear communicator who works effectively with technicians, advisors, and customers
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
