Job summary

Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV) seeks a Corporate Partnerships Specialist, Materials & Advanced Manufacturing, to expand corporate-sponsored research at Johns Hopkins University. You will engage faculty, source opportunities, and shape sponsor-ready collaborations within Materials Science & Engineering and adjacent domains.

The role emphasizes multi-year agreements and strategic partnerships to increase sponsored research revenue.

Qualifications

Advanced Degree (PhD, MD) in directly related field.
Seven years of experience in corporate development, business development, external innovation, translational research, R&D strategy, or related roles in industry or academia.
U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident required due to Federal Export Controls.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

Navigate faculty engagement and relationship building across Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and related units; build trusted relationships with faculty, researchers, and leadership.
Monitor industry trends, corporate R&D priorities, and market signals to identify opportunities and inform engagement strategies.
Proactively shape and scale industry-funded programs, master research agreements, and sponsorships.
Develop sponsor-ready concepts, value propositions, deliverables, and timelines; create tailored proposals for corporate sponsors.
Coordinate introductions and meetings between faculty and industry partners; support deal structuring and negotiation.
