Job summary

Basis is a nonprofit applied AI research organization seeking a Business Operations Associate to turn interest into funded partnerships. The role focuses on managing the deal pipeline, coordinating contracts, and preparing founders for introductions and events in New York City.

The position can be part-time or contract (~20 hours/week) or full-time, with in-person work in the New York office. The compensation ranges from $50–$70 per hour or $100k–$145k full-time equivalent, depending on

Qualifications

• Experience running a CRM or similar tool (HubSpot, Attio, Salesforce or equivalent).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong organizational skills.
• Interest in partnerships, research collaborations, and early-stage deal processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate the deal pipeline in a CRM with owner and next steps for each partnership or contract.
• Schedule meetings, send follow-ups, manage contracts from draft to signature, and prepare weekly status reviews.
• Generate and nurture business opportunities by researching prospective partners and funders and preparing founders for events.
