Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a Part-time Library Assistant for Youth Services at George Memorial Library. You will support full-time staff at reference desks, help patrons use public computers, and assist with programming for children.

The role requires a high school diploma with 48 college hours and involves light physical tasks, shelving, and ongoing training. 24 hours per week at $15.30/hour with benefits typical for part-time county employees.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and 48 credit hours of college; experience with children in groups preferred.
• Typing and keyboarding skills; good communication and ability to interact with staff and public.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift library materials up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist the full-time staff at one of the library’s reference desks.
• Provide answers to reference questions or refer to full-time staff when needed.
• Assist patrons in using public computers to access catalog, accounts, Internet and databases.
